Steirerkraft Kernothek

The Kernothek is the home of the Steirerkraft brand, which refines the Styrian flagship products pumpkin, apple, scarlet runner bean and corn. This results in the best Styrian pumpkin seed oil PGI, roasted pumpkin seeds, apple potato chips and polenta.

In the Kernothek you can

• Draw your own kernel oil,
• look over the shoulders of the oil millers in the neighboring oil mill,
• Find gifts for every taste in the store
• and enjoy the many facets of Styrian food.

Opening hours of the Kernothek:

January to March:

• Monday to Friday: 8.00 a.m. - 1.00 p.m.
• Wednesday: 8.00 am - 5.00 pm
• Saturday: closed

April to December:

• Monday to Friday: 8.00 a.m. - 5.30 p.m.
• Saturday: 8.00 am - 12.30 pm

The adventure tour starts at the "Wunderhütte": Here you can find out where and how the Styrian oil pumpkin began its rise to fame. The laborious pumpkin seed oil production of yesteryear is just as much a topic as the careful cultivation. In "Lotti's show garden" you can watch pumpkins, beans and corn grow. The oil miller reveals the secrets of the high school of seed oil production. A film screening and a look inside the glass bottling plant complete the tour. Finally, a tasting of pumpkin seed products awaits you, fresh pumpkin seed oil can be tapped from the tank and you have the opportunity to personalize your pumpkin seed oil bottle with an individual label.
