Green energy park at Teichalmsee

At 1,200 meters above sea level, a small, fine "green" energy park for families was created at Teichalmsee in 2018. Together with the regional partner Energie Steiermark, we are pursuing the goal of familiarizing children and families with the most important facts about renewable energy as part of an interactive journey of discovery - a total of four play and quiz stations invite you to take a tour.

The energy park in the immediate vicinity of the Hotel Teichwirt, which is largely made from local wood, answers questions such as how energy generation works and what types of power plants there are. At the four play and quiz stations, visitors can generate electricity themselves using muscle power or, in some cases, the sun. In a power plant puzzle , visitors are asked to match the puzzle pieces of power plant types - such as run-of-river power plants, steam power plants and photovoltaics. To illustrate this even better, a small hydropower plant - a wood-metal hybrid water wheel system with an output of approx. 8kW - has also been integrated into the adventure tour through the park. There is also a public e-charging station with four charging points in the immediate vicinity of the Aibl lift.

Admission is free and the park is open from March to October!
