Tradition & modernity
The Kreuzwirt inn is located directly at the crossroads to St. Kathrein am Offenegg and Passail. However, the name of the inn does not come from the crossroads itself, but from a wayside cross that is said to have once stood there.
An inn was built on the same site back in 1878 and has been owned by the Pretterhofer family since 1914. After its closure in 2005, the young generation, who had already gained experience in running a restaurant business with the Bürgerkeller in Weiz, decided to bring the Kreuzwirt back to life. Michael and Kerstin made their dream come true and reopened the inn in August 2022.
The dining room with the large bar and the cozy parlor with a total of 70 seats invite you to eat, drink and celebrate.
The inn combines tradition with modernity, serving not only traditional cuisine, but also burgers and barbecue ribs. A particular specialty is the roast pork, which is cooked in an old wood-fired oven. There is also a lunch menu during the week.
