A historic pilgrimage church
The pilgrimage church "Heilige Maria (Frauenkirche)" in Pernegg was built in 1461 as a Gothic church.
The interior of the church was increasingly "baroqueized" over time, which can be seen in the monumental columns and the particularly noble high altar. As a special feature, it has a five-storey tower, which is unusual for a church. The walls and the 6 octagonal columns are richly decorated. Magnificent and outstanding ceiling paintings make the church special, and the mighty high altar with the "Pernegg Madonna" is the destination of numerous pilgrims and pilgrimages,
Today, the church is a popular excursion destination, where cyclists from the nearby Mur Cycle Path also like to stop by.
Guided tours of the church: after the first service of the month.
Further guided tours by appointment at the parish office in Bruck an der Mur.
