One of the most important pilgrimage churches

The Maria Pöllauberg pilgrimage church is located on the southern foothills of the Masenberg, at an altitude of 752 meters above sea level. It was built between 1339 and 1377. However, the first veneration of a
image of the Virgin Mary dates back to around 1160 at a spring on the Pöllauberg. TheHigh Gothic pilgrimage church is one of the oldest and most important places of pilgrimage in Styria and attracts thousands of pilgrims from near and far every year.
