With the RegioBus to the mountain pasture
In summer, the nature park Almenland is easily accessible by public bus. Take advantage of this environmentally friendly journey and travel comfortably by bus to go hiking, eating out or to an excursion destination!
The network of bus routes
RegioBuses Almenland
At weekends and on public holidays during the summer vacation (July 5 - September 7, 2025), the RegioBuses will extend their routes, making a large part of the nature park accessible by public transport. This also makes it possible to return from another stop.
Scheduled buses on Saturday, Sunday & public holidays:
- Bus route 216: Frohnleiten - Tyrnau/Ort - Nechnitz - Fladnitz/T. - Passail - Teichalm - Sommeralm (4x per day) - Brandlucken (2x per day)
- Bus route 205: Weiz - St. Kathrein/O. - Heilbrunn - Sommeralm - Teichalm (3x per day)
Scheduled bus on Sundays & public holidays:
- Bus route 167: Bruck/Mur - Pernegg - Mixnitz - Breitenau - Teichalm - Sommeralm
Bus no. 167 - Attention:
The Teichalmstraße L320 from the Erhardstraße junction to the Teichalm is closed until further notice due to the storms. Bus route no. 167 is therefore unable to travel to the Teichalm. There is no detour for the remaining Sundays. We recommend guests coming from the direction of Bruck/Mur to take the S1 train to Frohnleiten station and then take bus no. 216 to get to the Teichalm.
Tickets:
You can buy tickets for the journeys directly on the bus. The "Freizeitticket" and the "Klimaticket" of the Verbundlinien are also valid. All price information can be found on the Verbund Linien website.

- 13,00 € per person (children up to 15 years free)
- valid on all Styrian public transport lines (urban transport, RegioBuses, local trains, Schloßbergbahn)
- available in RegioBuses, at train stations, ÖBB Ticket App, GrazMobil App, city buses & trains
Climate Ticket Styria:
- Annual pass for Styria
- € 499.00 per person (other prices & discounts see website)
- valid on all trains (local and long-distance), buses and streetcars in the entire Styrian network area, including the fare extension areas

Cultural excursion to Pernegg
Train S1 or S9 from Graz or Bruck/Mur

8.40 a.m.: Arrival Kirchdorf Ort
- Church tour in Pernegg (duration approx. 1.5 hours) with the opportunity to visit the Frauenkirche and the Maximilian Church
- Approx. 11.00 a.m.: Lunch at the Ritschi inn
- Visit to the Pernegg outdoor pool
17.03 hrs: Return journey from Kirchdorf Ort
Hiking trip to the Nechnitz

8.06 a.m.: Arrival at the Nechnitz wood sculpture park stop
- Hike on the Gerler-Runde to the Gerlerkogelhütte and back to the Nechnitz (duration approx. 5 hours)
- Approx. 13.00 hrs: Lunch at Gasthof Frankenhof or at the Gasthof Haider

Leisurely hike on the Sommeralm
Arrival at the Sommeralm:
- Line 216: 9.01 a.m. arrival at the Sommeralm Gasthaus Derler stop

- Alpine breakfast at the Stoakoglhütte (pre-booking on 0676 / 68 34 724)
- Hike on the Siebenkögel circular trail (approx. 4 hours), past the new wind turbine on the Sommeralm
- Dinner at the Almwirtshaus Holdahütt'n
Return journey from the Sommeralm Oberst-Götz-Haus stop:

Off to the flower village of St. Kathrein/Off.

- leisurely hike along the rowanberry panorama trail (approx. 2 hours)
- approx. 11.00 a.m. Lunch at the Landhotel Spreitzhofer or Landhotel Schwaiger
- Then visit the "Hanging Gardens of Sulamith" (guided tour with audio guide also possible) or the Graf distillery in St. Kathrein/Off.
- Walk to the village center of St. Kathrein, visit the WILD EDER for tartlets, coffee or chocolates from Eveline Wild
17.45 hrs: Return journey from the St. Kathrein/Offenegg bus stop Ort
Off into the depths in Passail

8.21 a.m.: Arrival at Passail Hauptplatz stop
- Short hike (approx. 4.5 kilometers) along the Raab (trail no. 765 & 730) to Arzberg in the town center
- Visit Arzberg local history museum and/or guided tour through the Arzberg show mine (guided tour at 10.00 a.m., duration approx. 1.5 hours)
- Short hike back to the center of Passail, lunch at the Hexenstub'n
- Visit to the leisure lake Passail
15.50 hrs: Return journey from the Tober Postwirt stop
Hiking & swimming in Fladnitz/T.

8.15 am: Arrival at the Fladnitz Ort stop
- Circular hike "Tulwitz-Round" from Fladnitz to the Rechberg (duration approx. 4.5 hours)
- Return approx. 1 p.m., followed by lunch at Donner Inn
- Visit Outdoor pool Fladnitz/T.

Family excursion to the Teichalm
Arrival at the Teichalm Teichwirt stop:
