From folk music and theater tradition
Folk music and theatrical tradition - a logical connection for most people. Folk music in its original sense is still very much alive at Almenland . Theater is also very important here. Every year, Almenland hosts numerous cabarets and plays. The theater groups are not only well-known in the region but also attract visitors from far and wide. From traditional theatrical works to modern plays, there is a wide and varied range of program items.
A special kind of open-air theater
The "Brandluckner Huab'n" is located at 1,132 m and is a rebuilt wooden house from the 17th century opposite the Naturhotel Bauernhofer. This makes it a cultural center in the nature park Almenland. The Huab'n Theater was founded in 2000 and can expect around 7,000 visitors a year. The Wednesday theater in the hotel attracts another 2,000 visitors a year.
The high attendance figures are not only due to the high-quality performances, but also the great atmosphere in the open-air theater. The covered grandstand offers 528 seats, so that guests can sit in the dry even on rainy evenings.
The grandstand is also often used for other events.

Theater with a special ambience
In 1966, a theater-enthusiastic chaplain and talented young people founded the first festival on the Lindenberg. By 1972, around 10,000 visitors had attended. However, due to the renovation of the church, the performance venue was no longer available and a new one had to be found.
The ruins of Stubegg Castle in Arzberg were then discovered and chosen as the new performance venue. In the first year of work, over 2,000 voluntary hours were spent on the necessary construction work. Over the years, of course, renovation work was added time and again.
Since 1975 (premiere), the "Burgspiele Stubegg" association has performed 34 different works of world literature, attracting over 48,000 visitors.
The beauty of these festivals is that old traditional works are performed by young and old and attract numerous visitors.
