Museum of local history Rauchstubenhaus

The Rauchstubenhaus in the village of Edelschachen is a popular excursion destination for those interested in folklore. This building was inhabited until 1967 and was acquired by the market town of Anger in 1968. After the necessary renovations, a local history museum was set up in it, in which over 300 exhibits remind us of the arduous work on the farms in earlier decades.

The smokehouse is still intact today, in winter the Easter ham matures there and when groups come, it is heated up and the "Häfennigl" is prepared on the open fire.

Immerse yourself in the way of life of our ancestors. In the over 300-year-old smokehouse, you will learn about the joys and sorrows of the old days. Old equipment, tools, old documents and much more will give you an idea of the past.
If you book in advance, you can also heat up the stove and prepare the "Häfennigl" over an open fire.
