Writer and poet

The great Styrian poet, who was even in the running for the Nobel Prize, was born a farmer's boy on the Alpl. In his later years, he returned to Krieglach and bought a house there for his family. In addition to donating to various churches in the region, he also took care of the education of the children of mountain farmers and built a forest school for them.

The birthplace, the house in Krieglach and the forest school now house exhibitions on the life of Peter Rosegger that are well worth a visit.
