The wooden sculpture trail

The special path on the Nechnitz

Wood carving with a chainsaw is the hobby of Erich Haider-Harrer, who is also an innkeeper and farmer on the Nechnitz, the high plateau in the municipality of Fladnitz an der Teichalm. With his wooden figures, mainly local forest animals, he has now created a wonderful path from the Nechnitz up almost to the Gschaid Nock summit.

The trail starts directly at Gasthof Haider. Over 45 different wooden figures, benches, an energy fountain and explanatory boards accompany the 1.5 km long path up to the summit. A wonderful panoramic view awaits you there with the Rote Wand, the Hochlantsch and the Sommeralm to the north. To the south, the view goes over to the Schöckel and the surrounding peaks. The mountains can be easily identified with the help of the large display board.
