Garden of Eden tour
Of flowers and fine brandies around St. Kathrein
Route length: 13.4 km
Difficulty: medium
Total ascent: 518 m
Road conditions: asphalted roads, field and forest paths, only on secondary roads
Directions
The "Garden of Eden" - that's St. Kathrein am Offenegg. Everything here revolves around flowers, the spiritual and the heavenly! The starting point is the town center of St. Kathrein with its striking church. Via the "Zeil" you head out to the "spiritual" Graf distillery, whose specialty is rowanberry brandy. The route continues through a wooded area to the district of Gschaid. If you decide not to take the detour up the Eibisberg, you can continue cycling without any major inclines.
The path also leads past the Sulamith Garden, which is located at over 1,000 m above sea level and is Sissy Sichart 's green paradise. Back in the village center, it is worth taking a walk through the "Fragrance Garden" with its heavenly scents up to the hotel "Der Wilde Eder". There, the "chocolate heaven" of TV chef and world champion patissier Eveline Wild opens up - this time a paradise for all praline and chocolate fans, where you can of course also taste and buy!
