Wind turbine on the Sommeralm

A point of reference!

One of the highest wind turbines in Europe is located at 1,400 m above sea level directly on the Sommeralm. The wind turbine is a landmark visible from afar. After several lightning strikes, the old wind turbine was demolished and a new one erected by Energie Steiermark. This new wind turbine has a height of 118 m and a rotor diameter of 126 m.
