Always in the direction of Schöckl with a view

Route length: 25.5 km
Difficulty: medium
Total gradient: 550 m
Road conditions: asphalted roads, mainly quiet side roads

Directions

From Passail, the route continues along the Raab to the old mining town of Arzberg, where the old silver mine can still be visited today. Arzberg is also the home of the Almenland-tunnel cheese. Here, the Raab also "disappears" into the gorge and forms the Great Raab Gorge. Arzberg is therefore also the starting and finishing point for hikes through the Raabklamm gorge.

Just after leaving the village, you pass the Stubegg ruins, which unfortunately can no longer be visited today. The district of Burgstall or Burgstaller Höhe is idyllically situated between the Raabklamm gorge and the Schöckl and offers wonderful views of the Passailer Kessel. The path continues southwards - always with a view of the Schöckl.

On the way back, you pass a few inns, especially the "Bachwirt" in Wölling is a good place to stop for a bite to eat before heading back to Passail via the golf course.

This tour has a nice incline and is therefore only recommended for sporty cyclists or e-bike owners!
