Schüsserlbrunn hikes

Schüsserlbrunn has always been a popular excursion destination: the picturesque little wooden church on the Hochlantsch wall has been visited by pilgrims for centuries and hikers have also always stopped by. In 2018, however, the church was voted the "most popular excursion destination in Styria" as part of the big Austria show on ORF and came third in the Austrian competition.

The pilgrimage site can only be reached on foot, the easiest way is from the Teichalm along the Mixnitzbach (towards "Guter Hirte") and then up to the GH "Steirischer Jokl" and from there down another 198 wooden steps to the church square. Even if the path does not have many meters of altitude, it is still a good 12 kilometers to walk. Schüsserlbrunn can also be combined with a tour through the Bärenschützklamm gorge or a Hochlantsch circuit. Paths also lead from the village of Breitenau am Hochlantsch up to the church.

ATTENTION: The church and the "Steirischer Jokl" inn are closed from November 1 to April 30!
