Styrian Mariazell Trail

The "Styrian Mariazell Way" is the classic pilgrimage route par excellence. This path divides at the Schanzsattel near Fischbach and leads to Mariazell in 2 different variants.

The Mariazell trail (long-distance hiking trail 06) reaches Almenland near Arzberg and leads along the Raab via Passail to Hohenau/Raab. Now it climbs steeply up to the "Ochsenhalt" and on to the Sommeralm. Past the windmill, the trail leads out to Strassegg. Here, a visit to the legendary pilgrims' inn "Strosseggwirt" is a must. Just above the inn there is a real "cross meadow": crosses erected by groups of pilgrims as a reminder! The trail now leads out of the Almenland towards Schanzsattel.
