The history of silver mining in Arzberg
Arzberg, the small, picturesque village in the market town of Passail, can look back on more than 750 years of mining history. Silver mining was only stopped here in 1927. Today the show minethe only one in the whole of Eastern Styria, brings the hard life of the miners in earlier times to life. In addition, the newly designed educational mining trail leads around the village and provides information about mining in Arzberg on display boards, while the story of the "Silver Boys of Arzberg" is told to children along the way.
The Montanlehrpfad can easily be combined with a visit to the show mine or an enjoyable tasting in the Almenland cheese gallery can be combined. Arzberg is also the starting point for hikes into the Raab Gorgethe longest gorge in Austria. The innkeepers in and around the village take care of your physical well-being.
