A few centuries ago, the customs in the Almenland nature park originated from farming and craft trades. Some customs from musicdance, songs dialect and traditional costume have been preserved to the present day and continue to evolve. 

Today, up to 800 ibex(Capra Ibex) live in Styria. In the nature park Almenland it is very easy to come across ibex, as they mainly live between the Hochlantsch and the Red Wall are on the move. Generally speaking, they approach hikers calmly, but it is still important to keep your distance and not scare the animals! 

Diversity is particularly important in the nature park Almenland ! With its 125 contiguous alpine pastures, the nature park is one of the largest alpine pasture areas in Austria and has many different offers for a hiking-, wellness- or winter sports-vacation!

The Huab'n Theater is an open-air theater with a special ambience and is performed voluntarily by actors between the ages of 5 and 75. The performances are mainly comedy classics by Austrian authors, from Nestroy to Raimund and Rosegger. 

The topic of innovation is also very important to us at the Almenland nature park. Through the most diverse projects we always try to be up to date and develop the region in every respect. 

The hunting is part of our alpine pasture management and therefore ensures a healthy animal population on our alpine pastures. It also prevents game damage from getting out of hand through the shooting plan.

As part of the climate and energy model region regional measures and projects are implemented to counteract climate change. The main focus here is on renewable energy, reducing energy consumption, sustainable construction, mobility and raising awareness in the nature park Almenland.

At the beginning of May, the yellow-green seas of dandelion flowers shine in our valleys, which are best seen on a hike through the Almenland nature park. This is also the time when our dandelion festival days where you will be spoiled with culinary delights from our Almenland hosts.

The Raab Gorge is a unique natural phenomenon that is ideal for a beautiful hike to enjoy nature. With a total length of around 17 kilometers, the large and small Raabklamm are among the longest gorges in Austria. 

In winter, the Almenland Nature Park is known for its many small but excellent ski areas on the Teichalm, Sommeralm and Eibisberg. There is also a great cross-country ski trail on the Alm and beautiful routes that you can explore on snowshoes with snowshoes. 

Our Teichalm is one of the centerpieces of the Almenland Nature Park. Whether skiing or snowboarding, cross-country skiing, hiking or simply walking - there is something for everyone on the Teichalm .
