The Semriach Encirclement

The Kesselfallklamm, often referred to as the “little sister” of the famous Bärenschützklamm, captivates visitors with an impressive blend of thundering waterfalls, rugged rock formations, and unspoiled nature. With well-secured climbing paths and a significantly shorter route than the Bärenschützklamm, it is easy to hike and is therefore a particularly popular destination for families with children.

For more than 100 years, visitors have been able to follow the Rötschbach along its most spectacular stretch. On the approximately 2.7-kilometer-long Kesselfall Circular Trail, the path leads directly through the gorge via numerous bridges and ladders. The crystal-clear water plunges downhill over several cascades and waterfalls, flows through natural pools, and has created a fascinating gorge landscape over the course of millennia.

A particular highlight is the gorge’s largest waterfall, which plunges about 38 meters down several tiers. Time and again, impressive views of the power of the water and the wild beauty of nature open up. At the upper end of the gorge, the striking “Stone Gate”—an extraordinary rock formation—demonstrates the masterpieces that nature can create over time.
