Through the steepest town in Styria
The Mühlenpanoramaweg in Gasen is a leisurely loop trail that takes about 1 hour to complete. The trail starts and ends in the center of Gasen, where you can stop for a bite to eat at one of three traditional taverns before or after your hike! Families will also enjoy the outdoor pool and the great playground right next to the Stoanihaus.
The small, friendly mountain village of Gasen is part of the Almenland Nature Park Almenland has 900 residents. The village is best known as the home of the Willingshofer“Stoakogler Brothers,” who still run their farms here today. The “Stoanihaus der Musik” in the town center houses a major exhibition chronicling the “Stoakogler” brothers’ illustrious career; the “Music School for Adults,” also located there, now has students from all over Europe. The small café inside the building is a popular gathering place for music students and visitors alike, and the souvenir shop rounds out the offerings.
The extremely steep slopes surrounding the village make Gasen the "steepest place in Styria."
