Right on Mariazellerweg
Tired, thirsty, or hungry hikers can warm up, refill their water bottles, or use the restroom at the Mühlhäusl, a makeshift shelter located right behind or next to the inn.
This family-run business, with its rustic dining rooms and cozy seating in the sunroom, is located at an elevation of 1,170 meters above sea level, between the towns of Gasen and Breitenau am Hochlantsch.
They offer 8 deluxe double rooms with satellite TV, shower/toilet, and a balcony, as well as 9 rooms with beds for a total of 90 people —enough space for pilgrims and hiking groups.
The Stroßeggwirt is a starting point or a place to stop along many hiking trails, such as the Mariazell Hiking Trail.
Please make inquiries and reservations by phone only! Buses are welcome!
Local Products - Traditional Dishes
The high-quality bacon, sausage, and smoked meats come mainly from our own pigs. Our own cows provide the fresh milk for breakfast coffee and the rich alpine butter. During the spring goat kid meat days, there’s something for everyone: baked, fried, grilled, and boiled dishes...
