A connection between the two nature parks

The hike begins in Maria Fieberbründl and passes by the Maria Fieberbründl pilgrimage church, winding its way through the heart of the Pöllauer Tal Nature Park to the historic market town of Pöllau with its impressive “Styrian St. Peter’s Basilica.”

The route continues through Birkfeld to the " Naturpark Almenland," Europe’s largest contiguous low-altitude alpine pasture area. The Sommeralm and Teichalm, both offering spectacular views, provide magnificent panoramic vistas before the route leads over the striking Rote Wand into the rugged rocky landscape surrounding Mixnitz.

It is also possible to start from Mixnitz, heading in the opposite direction.
