Connecting Biodiversity – Protecting Habitats

Biodiversity in the Almenland Nature Park Almenland one of our greatest strengths. Through the project “Biotope Network in the Styrian Nature Parks,” valuable habitats are being preserved, interconnected, and purposefully developed. By implementing specific measures, we are creating better conditions for animals and plants and helping visitors experience the importance of biodiversity firsthand.

The new management plan serves as the strategic foundation for the continued development of the Almenland Nature Park Almenland the next five years. The goal is to preserve our valuable cultural landscape, promote biodiversity, and ensure the sustainable development of low-impact tourism.

The main areas of focus are:

  • Preserving Alpine pastures and grazing lands by supporting agricultural management
  • Promoting Biodiversity Through the Management and Connectivity of Valuable Habitats
  • Improving Mobility and Visitor Guidance for a Mindful Nature Experience

The plan was developed in collaboration with local stakeholders and is based on cooperation, innovation, and clear goals.
