The “Der große Jogl” mountain bike tour passes through all eleven municipalities in the Joglland-Waldheimat region and combines challenging climbs with impressive views. Over the course of about 193 kilometers, you’ll experience diverse landscapes, idyllic forests, and numerous scenic overlooks.

The route can be traveled in either direction, and you can join it in any of the communities along the way. Vorau is the recommended starting point. From there, the tour takes you through the region in four varied stages. The suggested stage divisions are provided as a guide and can be adjusted to suit your individual fitness level and riding ability.

The Great Jogl, Stage 1, Vorau–St. Jakob im Walde

This stage of the “Der große Jogl” bike tour leads from Vorau over the Hochwechsel—with its breathtaking views—to the route’s endpoint in the municipality of St. Jakob im Walde.

The Great Jogl, Stage 2, St. Jakob im Walde–Fischbach

The second day of the tour leads from the flower-filled town of St. Jakob im Walde to the Pretul River and on to the northernmost town, the mountain health resort and "Easter Bunny Village" of Fischbach.

The Great Jogl, Stage 3, Fischbach–Wenigzell

The third stage leads from Fischbach to Birkfeld, the home of the Edlseer family. Following a section of the R8, the route heads toward Strallegg and continues on to Wenigzell, where the shortest stage of the tour ends.

The Great Jogl, Stage 4, Route 1, Wenigzell-Vorau

The first route for the final stage goes from Wenigzell through Miesenbach to the Masenberg to enjoy the view one last time before heading home, ending back at the starting point in Vorau.
