Almenland Styrian Nature Parks / Nature Park / Styria

The seven Styrian nature parks represent Styria’s most beautiful cultural landscapes—distinctive and ecologically valuable landscapes such as vineyards, alpine pastures, forested pond and river areas, and hilly orchard landscapes—and are committed to the harmonious coexistence of people and nature.

The Styrian provincial government has placed it under special protection and designated it a "nature park. "

The “Naturparke Steiermark” association brings together all seven Styrian nature parks. Here, current issues are addressed, programs are planned, and projects are developed in collaboration with nature educators, nature park schools, nature park partners, and farmers.

Nature works...

…is a joint initiative of the Styrian Nature Parks that highlights the value of intact natural areas for people, the environment, and the region. Through a wide range of projects, educational programs, and regional partnerships, the initiative raises awareness of biodiversity, sustainable development, and the unique impact of nature on our health and quality of life.

Nature Park Strategy 2025

The Nature Park Strategy 2025 outlines the shared goals and future priorities of Styria’s nature parks. It serves as the foundation for the sustainable development of the regions and strengthens the nature parks as model regions for nature conservation, education, recreation, and regional economic development.

The Styrian Nature Conservation Academy is an educational institution active throughout Styria that focuses on topics and current issues related to nature conservation and the cultural landscape.

As a nonprofit organization owned by the State of Styria, StAF supports projects focused on science, the environment, nature, art, culture, and archaeology.

The AMS provides financial support to the STAF program and, by extension, to the nature parks. As part of this partnership, they offer personalized coaching, career guidance, and support.
