Located at an elevation of about 700 meters above sea level, just about 1.2 kilometers from the center of Passail, the Almenland Kreiner Almenland invites you to discover the fascinating world of bees up close. If you’ve always wanted to know how thousands of hardworking bees produce delicious honey, this is the place for you.

During a guided tasting, you’ll learn how bees live, work together, and what valuable products they produce. From aromatic blossom honeys to propolis and the popular Almenland —here, you can taste the region’s diversity with every bite.

Fascinating insights into the lives of bees
In this lovingly designed exhibition area, visitors of all ages learn why bees are among the most important farm animals of all. Informative displays, exciting stories, and the Kreiner family’s enthusiasm make a visit here an experience for the whole family.

The highlight is the guided honey tasting, where you can sample a wide variety of honeys, creative honey specialties, and homemade honey pralines and honey chocolates. Along the way, you’ll learn interesting facts about the work of a beekeeper and the extraordinary sense of community within a bee colony.

Sweet Treats from the Honey Shop

At the Kreiner Apiary’s honey shop, it’s all about great taste. In addition to fine honeys, propolis, and beeswax products, the handmade Almenland is a particular highlight. 
Master pastry chef and chocolatier Claudia Schellnegger uses these ingredients to create exquisite pralines and chocolates—enriched with real honey from the apiary’s own hives, organic raw chocolate, and the finest regional ingredients. A sweet souvenir that’s sure to be remembered.

The honey shop is open year-round, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
