A hike with great views!

The Hohe Zetz is the mountain where the people of Weiz go for scenic views. With the Almer Inn, with its smoking room, is a popular inn for day-trippers along the way.

Brandlucken the eastern gateway to the alpine pasture region, though it itself is already situated at over 1,000 meters above sea level. The village is dominated by the open-air stage of the Huab’n Theater, which stages classic Austrian comedies here during the summer months. The Hohe Zetz, at 1,264 m, is a popular mountain for its views and can be reached from Brandlucken any major climbs. With a little luck, you might even spot some chamois. From the summit cross, you have a wonderful view stretching all the way to the Hungarian Plain. From the Hoher Zetz, the trail descends to the Rauchstubenhaus, home to the Almer Inn, which is a great place to stop for a break. This 300-year-old farmhouse, perched high above Anger, was inhabited until 1967 and now houses the “Rauchstubenhaus,” a small local history museum featuring rural artifacts. Guided tours take place several times a day from Thursday through Sunday.

The destination is the idyllic village of Anger; from there, you’ll take the SAM taxi back to Brandlucken.
