The Feistritz Valley Bike Trail runs along the Feistritz River from the Joglland-Waldheimat region to the Thermenland. The route, which is mostly gently downhill, is particularly well-suited for families.

Wild Romance Along the Feistritz

The Feistritz Valley Bike Trail winds through one of the most diverse natural landscapes in Eastern Styria. Cycling along the Feistritz River, you’ll pass through dense forests, impressive river landscapes, and the wild and romantic Feistritz Gorge before the route continues through the Apple Country and on to the Thermal Springs and Volcano Region. Numerous attractions along the way, such as Lake Stubenberg, the Herberstein Wildlife Park, and the Koglhof summer toboggan run, ensure a variety of experiences.

The bike path, which is mostly slightly downhill , is ideal for leisure cyclists and families. Please note, however, that the section between Birkfeld and Koglhof runs along a heavily trafficked road, and the fords in the Feistritzklamm gorge may only be crossed at walking speed or by pushing your bike—extra caution is advised, especially in changing weather conditions.
