Educational Center, Meeting Place & Nature Experience
The Education Center in Mixnitz is open to anyone interested in nature . Whether you’re young or old, a Styrian or a visitor, here you can gain a deeper understanding of the local natural world. We use humor to highlight the fascinating interconnections of nature.
We offer numerous courses and workshops for families, children, nature enthusiasts, schools, and preschools. In addition, our facilities can be rented for various events, such as corporate gatherings or weddings . Naturwelten Steiermark also serves as the educational center for the Styrian Hunters’ Association and is thus a meeting place for hunters from far and wide.

Would you like to get to know us? No problem. From May through October, guided tours of the Nature Worlds take place every Friday at 2:00 p.m. At all other times, advance registration is required. Self-guided tours are not available.
Why?! We want to teach you as much as possible about nature and hunting, along with their role in our cultural landscape. Our interactive stations make this possible, but only when accompanied by our forest and hunting guides, who are experts on every aspect of hunting.

Our 30 interactive exhibits, along with an exploration workshop and a forest workshop focused on the environment, climate, nature, and native wildlife, offer adventure and a sense of accomplishment for visitors of all ages! Every visitor will discover new “natural worlds” and, at the same time, learn how easy it is to contribute to the preservation of our natural environment.

Questions like: Why the robot sheep isn’t a friend to the butterflies, and how foxes and badgers live—these will all be a thing of the past after a visit with us. Exploring the world of wildlife — from the rocky regions to the alpine pastures, forests, and meadows— identifying animal calls , or getting to peek inside a hunter’s backpack are all part of the nature-up-close experience in Mixnitz.
