Almenland Schöckl / Graz's Local Mountain / Styria

Anyone who climbs the legendary Schöckl, at 1,445 meters, will be rewarded with a surprisingly expansive view. The unique panorama and the cozy alpine landscape on the Schöckl invite you to linger. Paragliders also appreciate the mountain for its good thermals.

There are a large number of hiking trails around the Schöckl; together with the mountain huts and inns on the Schöckl, they offer the perfect way to spend an eventful day in the fresh air.

For those who aren't so steady on their feet, a cable car runs from St. Radegund to the summit. The Schöckl Cable Car is also a member of the GenussCard.

Schöckl Circuit

A leisurely hike from the Schöcklkreuz—which is already at an elevation of 1,000 meters—up to the Schöckl summit cross and transmission tower. From here, you’ll enjoy a magnificent panoramic view over the Passailer Kessel and the alpine pasture area, as well as over Graz and beyond.

The hike is also suitable for children and dogs and can be enjoyed year-round. Paid parking is available for visitors at the Schöcklkreuz.
