On this tour, you’ll ride from the Apfelgäten through the Raab Valley and up into the impressive alpine pasture landscape of Naturpark Almenland Naturpark .

Between Apples and Oxen

This tour connects two unique landscapes in Eastern Styria: Austria’s largest apple-growing region and Europe’s largest contiguous low-altitude alpine pasture area. Starting in Weiz, the route first winds through the rolling hills dotted with numerous orchards and vineyards before Almenland the ascent toward Almenland .

The drive through the highlands of the Almenland Nature Park Almenland due to the significant elevation gain, but it rewards you with impressive views of the East Styrian mountains. Along the route, numerous places to stop invite you to enjoy the region’s local specialties.

After reaching the highest point of the tour, a long descent with spectacular views awaits on the way back to the Raab Valley—a varied conclusion to a challenging loop through the diverse landscape of Eastern Styria.
