A River Experience Combining Nature and Culture

The Mur Cycle Route combines stunning natural landscapes with cultural highlights and regional culinary delights. The section through the Almenland Nature Park runs from Leoben through Bruck an der Mur and Frohnleiten to Graz, delighting cyclists with idyllic river landscapes, historic old towns, and numerous attractions along the Mur River.

Along the way, attractions such as the Frauenkirche in Pernegg, Rabenstein Castle, Rein Abbey, and the Austrian Open-Air Museum in Stübing invite you to stop and explore. Cozy inns and regional specialties make this varied tour a special experience for leisure cyclists, before the route comes to an atmospheric conclusion in Graz, a UNESCO World Heritage city.

Road conditions

The Mur Cycle Route runs mostly along paved bike paths and side roads with little traffic. Some sections also follow well-maintained gravel paths along the Mur River.

Murra Cycle Route, Stage 5, Leoben–Graz

The fifth stage of the Mur Cycle Route runs through the Almenland Nature Park. It starts in Leoben, continues on to Bruck an der Mur and Frohnleiten, and ends in Graz, the stage’s destination.
