For all Teichalm lovers!

If you've never been to the Teichalm before, this loop is the best way to start. The trail takes you past the lake and through the moor, and the Gerlerkogel offers a great viewpoint.

The tour starts at Breitalm and first heads down to Teichalmsee. From there, the trail gently ascends to the right toward Gerlerkogel, though it actually circles around the mountain; if you’d like, you can of course take the short path up to the summit, where you’ll be rewarded with a beautiful panoramic view. Right along the trail is the new Gerlerkogel Hut, which, with its stunning view, is the perfect spot for a break. The trail then continues past the Gerlerkreuz and back down to the Teichalm.

Right next to the Latschenhütte is the entrance to the wild and romantic Teichalmmoor, which you can hike through. The trail ends at the lake by the wooden ox, which Almenland the Almenland beef-producing region. Waiting for you at the lake are pedal boats for a short tour, as well as several restaurants where you can stop for a bite to eat. The rest of the trail now leads past the Holzochsen up to the Hotel Pierer and back to the Breitalm, at the foot of the Heulantsch.

Road Conditions

The hike follows easily navigable forest trails, alpine paths, forest roads, and short paved sections. The optional ascent to the summit of the Gerlerkogel is short and easy. The bog nature trail leads through the raised bog via accessible wooden walkways.

Note: The Teichalmmoor is closed during the winter months.
