A mountain peak with a view of the Almenland
The Heulantsch Loop connects the Sommeralm with the Teichalm. The highlight of this beautiful alpine loop is the 1,473-meter-high Heutlantsch peak with its panoramic views: from the Plankogel across the Teichalm to the Hochlantsch. The tour is suitable for the whole family, and several huts and inns along the way invite you to take a break.
The tour begins at Teichalm, the bustling heart of the nature park. There’s plenty to see around Lake Teichalm, starting with the Almenland’s landmark: the wooden ox, which symbolizes ALMO beef production in the region. Right next to the lake is the Moor Nature Trail, which winds around the Teichalm high moor; informational signs explain how the moor was formed and describe its flora and fauna. You can also combine the hike with a visit to the Almerlebnispark climbing park or a boat ride on the lake. And, of course, don’t forget to stop for a bite to eat at one of the establishments by the lake.
For anyone who’d like to go on a really long hike, the Heulantsch Loop can be combined with the Siebenkögel Sommeralm Trailto form a circular summit hike from Teichalm to Sommeralm.
