Advent in the Almenland means experiencing Christmas with all your senses: atmospheric Christmas markets, regional arts and crafts, mulled wine, Christmas baking, candlelight, and living traditions.

Teichalm Christmas Market
The perfect Advent atmosphere:
The courtyard of the Latschenhütte takes on a cozy atmosphere on Advent weekends. Amid lovingly crafted handicrafts, regional delicacies, and the scent of mulled wine, Christmas cookies, and pine branches, it’s a wonderful place to stroll through the pre-Christmas season.
You might even find a special Christmas gift or two , or a little souvenir to take home. And if Mother Holle is on your side, the Teichalm region—surrounding the snow-covered Teichalmsee—will show itself from its most beautiful side. A walk around the lake is simply a must.

Brandluckner Advent Market
Christmas just like in the old days—at the “ Brandlucken.” At about 1,100 meters above sea level, the Advent weekends are truly cozy. Amid regional arts and crafts, small gift ideas, and delicacies from the Almenland region, there’s plenty of time to browse, sample, and enjoy each other’s company. Add to that a warming glass of mulled wine and perhaps even the first snowflakes—that’s really all it takes for a wonderful Advent day.
The atmosphere will be especially festive at the Krampus Market on November 21, featuring St. Nicholas and a grand Perchten parade. The children’s nativity play and the performances by the Brandluckner Huab’n Theater will also provide entertainment for young and old alike.

Advent Celebrations in St. Kathrein am Offenegg
When more than 100 candles light up the Advent trail in the mountain village of St. Kathrein am Offenegg, the atmosphere becomes truly magical. During Advent, you can explore the village at a leisurely pace on foot—strolling past lovingly decorated Advent stalls featuring regional products, handicrafts, and traditional farming customs.
There’s plenty for young visitors to enjoy, too:
The Sternderlpass takes them on a discovery tour, and cookie baking and story time help pass the time while they wait for the Christ Child. A special highlight is the life-size chocolate nativity scene by Eveline Wild—and anyone who wants to can even create their own chocolate.
Christmas music in the parish church, alphorn players in the village, and the tower brass band to round out the event make Advent a festive experience for the whole family.

Advent Market at Moarhofhechtl
A cozy Advent market on a farm: At the Moarhofhechtl in Passail, it’s all about crafts, regional products, and the little things that make the Christmas season so special.
Starting at 9:00 a.m., artisans from the Almenland region and the surrounding area invite you to browse their wares, while regional producers showcase their specialties and gift ideas. There will also be mulled wine, freshly made egg dishes, and, starting at 2:00 p.m., festive music performed by a brass band and music students from Passail.
If you’d like, you can combine the Advent spirit with your search for a Christmas tree: Christmas trees grown on the farm are available right on the farm for you to choose and take home. You can also take a horse-drawn carriage ride to the Birglhof Nativity Museum—a wonderful opportunity to enjoy Advent in a cozy atmosphere.
